You can now sign up for the Repsol International Volunteering Week
In over 20 countries
Repsol and Fundación Repsol are organising the Repsol International Volunteering Week, which will take place from 26th November to 2nd December in 22 countries. The Company's current and retired employee who wish to join this initiative can participate in one of over 80 activities being held throughout the Week. The sign up period begins on 29th October and ends on 14th November.
Through this initiative, we will be joining efforts to overcome one of the most pressing and ambitious challenges currently facing society: the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The SDG are a set of 17 global objectives to eradicate poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all by 2030. These objectives were approved in 2015 by the 193 UN member states, and we are all encouraged to do our bit to help achieve them.
The events organised during the International Week in these 22 countries will be related to two SDG: Zero hunger and Quality education. These two causes were chosen by current and retired Repsol employees to be the main focus of the activities held during the Week.
With regards to food (SDG 2), we want to help end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture. To do so, employees can participate in food drives, organise breakfasts and dinners in charity canteens, or improve the infrastructure of food banks, among other activities.
The field of education (SDG 4) is also fundamental to change the world and end inequality. We are proposing incentives to guarantee inclusive education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for everyone. There will be activities to teach the official local language to immigrants and refugees who recently arrived in the country, teach unemployed young people and people at risk of marginalization how to improve their professional skills, tutor children after school, or promote reading skills and new technologies.
